Richard Santo, CPSA, CCPSC, CFSE (Senior Principal Engineer, Group Leader, Eastern Business Unit) has over thirty-nine (39) years of engineering, operations, and consulting experience in high-hazard chemical operations, with specific expertise in reaction chemistry and kinetics, mixing and separation, and process control. Mr. Santo is a trained and experienced PHA facilitator, and has extensive experience in conducting HAZOPs, HAZOP/LOPAs, and SIL studies (SIL Assignment, Verification, SRS). He is a Certified Process Safety Auditor (CPSA) through IIA/BEAC, a Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) through AIChE/CCPS, and a Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) through exida® (CFSE 191206 001).
Mr. Santo is one of the leads for SIL verification projects at AcuTech. This includes using and overseeing the use of exSILentia® and other tools to ensure SIFs meet SIL Assignment targets (verified/ achieved with instrumentation design), proof testing intervals. SIL Verification activities also include development of Safety Requirement Specification (SRS) that details the functional and safety integrity requirements listed in the IEC 61511-2016 standard for SIS implementation.
